K.R. Mangalam University since its inception in 2013, has been striving to fulfil its prime objective of transforming young lives through ground-breaking pedagogy, global collaborations, and world-class infrastructure. Spread over a sprawling area of 26 acres, K.R. Mangalam University is located against the magnificent backdrop of Aravalli Hills The campus is meticulously designed with special emphasis on nature conservation. The modern and updated infrastructure at K.R. Mangalam University offers all the facilities and resources that are required to provide the learners with a conducive learning environment. The University infrastructure includes a spacious campus building, state-of-the-art classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, the latest equipment, and other amenities that aid in enhancing the students’ overall learning experience.

Key Features of teaching-learning strategy and its implementation The University is steadfast in its efforts to create a knowledge economy by offering an innovative and multidisciplinary approach to curriculum focused on employability, skill development and entrepreneurship and integration of cross-cutting issues such as gender, inclusivity, values, professional ethics, and environmental sustainability.

Key initiatives adopted in Teaching Learning framework at K.R Mangalam University:

1. Reverse Engineering in Curriculum Mapping


Our curriculum for all academic programmes have been carefully tailored with reverse engineering from a database of high-salary jobs adding newer soft skills, coding/programming and experiential learnings along with the career paths for each student based on their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) or STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) and Commerce and Management for placements with high salaried jobs and the 4th Industrial Revolution the advent of “cyber-physical systems” involving entirely new capabilities for people and machines. The curriculum has been reviewed and updated based on the regulatory framework which includes curricular and co-curricular activities that prepare students for contributing to national development, fostering global competencies, inculcating a value system, promoting the use of technology, and pursuing quest of excellence. The classroom teaching-learning processes augmented by hands-on, experiential and participatory learning and relevant fieldwork such as field visits, field projects, research projects and internships. We have adopted inputs from National Education Policy 2020, fundamentals and applications of Data Analytics, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning and more emphasis on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environment Social Governance (ESG) at the Pan University level so that we build a resilient future for the welfare of humanity and planet Earth.

Inter-disciplinary courses based on Choice Based Credit System to provide maximum multidimensional learning exposure to the students. Open elective courses are offered to students to provide them the opportunity to diversify their knowledge and explore interdisciplinary interest. Value-added courses (VAC) are offered to students to make them develop the industry-relevant skill sets and soft skills. Inter-disciplinary field and research projects to provide the students both academic and practical experience bridging the gap between academia and industry





2. Industry-Academia collaborations


Industry Connect is an integral part of the curriculum at KR Mangalam University. It gives industry exposure to the learners, allowing them to implement their theoretical skills to the on-ground industrial problems. Students get the opportunity to interact with industry professionals and learn about organizational structure and operations. The practice facilitates learners to undertake projects and research in their field of interest. Industry connect program develops a symbiotic relationship between Academics and Industry. Students get a chance to connect and interact with industry experts which can help them to have industry experience.

The curriculum of such programs is designed in consultation with industry and execution of key courses is also done by experts from the collaborating industry Key Industry collaborators: Samatrix, IBM, Siemens, Xebia, ImaginXP, IAC (Tally), CESIM, Institute of company secretaries of India, Pranab Mukherjee Foundation, Heartfulness Foundation, National Stock Exchange Academy (India), MOUs with prominent industries help in bridging the gap between Academia & Industry. University has adopted 5 villages of the Gurugram district – Ghamroj, Garhi Bazidpur, Berka, Lakhuwas, Kharoda with duly signed MOU with District Commissioner, Gurugram for basic services in villages of district Gurugram, As per of adoption of nearby villages we inculcate social, ethical, and cultural values specially to take up programs Post COVID 19 affected villagers for education, Health, Hygiene, Nutrition, providing experiential learning and real time live-in-the-lab projects for students and faculty for building resilient smart villages.

Employability is being enhanced by pedagogical evaluation cross cultural programs, International Exchange Student Programs, Global Education/Knowledge, Global Scoring Systems, Corporate Alliances, Mentoring by Alumni, Dedicated Career Management Center and entrepreneurship program through Innovation Ecosystem. As part of above we have signed 109 MOUs with various National and International Universities, Industries, NGO for Research, Academic Development, Training, Placement, Projects, etc

5. Promoting Academic Excellence through Experiential & Participative Learning


Our teaching-learning pedagogy lays emphasis on experiential & participative learning components which prepare students for the workplace and civil society. Various experiential learning components like Case Studies, Industry Projects, Field Experience, Internships, Industry visits, Moot court etc. are made integral part of courses.

Extension and Outreach Activities: K.R Mangalam University creates awareness, shapes and sensitizes the young minds for a responsible behaviour, inclusiveness and innovation. Thus, students undertake various social responsibility activities.

From academic year 2021-22, the University has undertaken 92 extension and outreach activities till date, which encompasses a spectrum of community awareness, sensitization and development programmes on digital skills enhancement, plantation drives, financial literary campaign, visit to orphanages and old age homes, media literacy, self-medication camps, nutrition and hygiene alert rally, street plays, health camps, field projects, improvising STEM learning in rural schools, Swachhta avam Shramdaan Abhiyaan, sanitary kitchen practices and many more.

All Schools at K.R Mangalam University are collectively organising extension and outreach activities. All these activities are aligned to SDG Goals with Specific Indicators such as Indicator 3.5- Strengthen the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, including narcotic drug abuse and harmful use of alcohol, (Goal 3), Indicator 4.3- Equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university (Goal 4), Indicator 5.2- Elimination of All forms of Violence against Women and Girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation (Goal 5), Indicator 13.3- Improve Education, Awareness- Raising and Human and Institutional Capacity on Climate Change Mitigation, Adaption, Impact reduction and Early Warning (Goal 13), Indicator 16.2- End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children (Goal 16).

Mentor-Mentee system: Unbiased guidance from experienced thought leaders is paramount to navigate students efficiently to achieve what they want. Mentors at KRMU indulge with the mentee to identify their aspirations, learning requirements, and interests individually. The system strengthens the bond between teachers and students while helping them teach and learn at their own pace. The training from the mentors helps the students to choose a career path that can suit their skills and interests. Effective mentoring begins with the faculty and depends on the healthy relationship between faculty and students.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Club: It allows young students to participate in various government-led community service activities & programmes. The objective of KRMU-NSS is to develop responsible personalities through community service. The programme aims to promote social welfare in students to serve society equally. NSS volunteers work closely with villagers and learn to live satisfactorily with limited resources. They also assist villagers with essential commodities such as food, clothing, and first-aid facilities during uncertainties. Under NSS, volunteers help the deprived section of society raise their living standard to live with dignity.

Entrepreneurship and Incubation: K.R. Mangalam Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre (KEIC) has been established to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial qualities in budding professionals who are interested in starting their own ventures. At our university, we strive to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among our students. The University provides infrastructure and technical support to the students having innovative ideas to transform into new products and services for the betterment of society.

The KEIC assists all the aspirants with mentoring, planning and execution of startup idea into a real business. The KEIC has maintained a pool of mentors, industrialist, sponsors and government agencies like Banks, EDII, and DST who are willing to aid budding entrepreneurs. I am elated to report that due to the concerted efforts made during the academic year 2021-22, KEIC conducted 21 incubation activities and has successfully established an Institution's Innovation Council (IC202218117) in the campus as per the norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government of India

School Contact Programme: The students of the School of Education have been devoting five working days at different government and private schools for the last four years.

Financial and Legal-aid Camp: School of Legal Studies conducts Legal Aid Camps along with the students to strengthen society by providing a legal platform to the villagers.


6. Integrating Outcome-based Education System


  • All the programs of the institute have well defined Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs),Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) and Programme Outcomes (POs) which are displayed on the website and departmental notice boards.
  • All the courses have well defined Course Outcomes (COs) which are regularly analyzed to achieve the OBE and available on course templates.
  • All the stakeholders are made aware of PSOs, PEOs, POs and COs through various available modes such as website, noticeboards, students handbook, seminars etc.

7. Reforms & Innovations in the Examination System


It keeps its examination system open to modification and strengthens it from time to time, making the system foolproof and addressing any grievances of students.

The drivers for reforms in examination system of Indian education taken up by the premier university have been incorporated into our examination system and these include OBE- framework for assessment process, evaluation of higher order abilities and professional skills in various forms like SWAYAM/MOOCs, internships, and project works, as well as pedagogical approaches to assessment design.

Assignment/Quiz/Test/Tutorials /Interview/Peer Review/Report/ Presentation/Open Book Test/ Evaluated Discussion Forum as weekly internal assignments, in addition to one Mid Term Exam and End Term Exam are made part of evaluation to keep the students meaningfully engaged with the course content throughout the semester. Twenty more marks are earmarked for Assignment/Quiz/Test/Tutorials /Interview/Peer Review/Report/ Presentation/Open Book Test/ Evaluated Discussion Forum as weekly internal assignments by the concerned teacher in the respective theory course so that the students update themselves with the course content regularly. Ten marks are allotted for attendance in the respective theory courses. Implementation of these measures created a positive impact on students’ attendance and the results.

8. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):


University has a well-defined IQAC which looks into the quality related initiatives at university The primary goals of IQAC are:


  • Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), is to build and ensure a quality culture at the institutional level.
  • The IQAC is meant to plan, guide and monitor Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the University.
  • The IQAC shall not be a record-keeping cell but shall channelize and systematize the effort to pull the University in the path of academic excellence.
  • The IQAC should become a driving force for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.

Use of new technology to facilitate Innovative Teaching?


K.R Mangalam University has laid great emphasis on creating appropriate technology framework to facilate innovative teaching. KR Mangalam University has well developed IT facilities including Wi-Fi. Adequate number of computers with printers, scanners and high-speed internet are available in office, examination section, computer room, store and library. This includes extensive computer provision with all the computers in LAN with Internet facility. KRMU has focused consistently deployed best-in-class IT infrastructure and Applications development for Academic and Research support. Over 500+ LAN points are augmented across the campus computer labs and office spaces. The campus backbone network is of 400 Mbps, and Wi-Fi Network points over __ numbers were deployed across the campus in all academic blocks and hostels blocks for 24X7 internet service, enabling students and faculty to stay connected and access the academic content, anywhere and everywhere in the campus. A Cloud Based Online Data centre is built to manage network operations efficiently, host all the servers, with continuous power supply, so that the network and servers are monitored, and are available for better connectivity, across all teaching blocks. Server infrastructure includes high power computing nodes, IBM Rack Server with Cloud Base Storage. The enterprise Firewall CISCO has been deployed for handling enhanced load on network and applications, catering to academic and administrative processes, thereby providing a secure campus network. Additional ICT tools such as ZOOM and MS Teams for connecting online with students, faculty members, foreign universities and various other institutions in the country, have also been deployed. Microsoft Outlook, in a hosted environment, to provide email service for students, faculty and staff, to manage all the communication. Over 2000 Online Outlook mailboxes are hosted in the email solution. 600 desktops and 20 iMac are installed in computer labs, administrative offices and faculty work stations across the campus, giving computing facility to students and faculty for hands-on practical hands-on sessions. Business processes – Academic (Admissions, Academics to Examination), Back office (Fee collection, Hostel booking, Transport booking, with integrated online payment gateways, Staff recruitment, attendance and leaves management, payroll, etc) are done on UNISOFT.

All the students are provided access to Internet resources from various academic buildings and hostels on 24x7 basis. Students can login to their account for any kind of information and download from ERP and University’s Website. The portal also caters to various needs of the researchers, faculty, Parents of the students and the staff of the University. With this system, learning and monitoring become easier and efficient. Most importantly, student-student and staff-student communication are greatly facilitated by this technology.

As our institution was established in 2013, we installed new systems in phases and augmented the IT infrastructure to establish new labs according to the requirements of new Schools. University has a policy to procure IT equipment and software as and when requirements are raised by various Schools. Some of the key learning tools that are used extensively at University:

  • Use of ICT and LMS such as Moodle to facilitate teaching-learning process
  • MOOCs that facilitate conducting online teaching and learning courses as part of a blended learning system
  • Use of Serosoft for smooth administration of the work process such as examination, attendance, registration etc.

Student Orientation & Induction Program


Organizing orientation & induction programs for incoming students and at the start of each session is a regular practice at K.R Mangalam University.

Orientation & Induction program serves the following objectives

1. Introducing students to their college life.

2. Incorporating them in the university environment.

3. Giving the opportunity to the university members and faculties to get connected to the new batch.

4. Update the students on new initiatives taken for students in the coming semester.

5. Encourage them towards preparing for campus placements.

6. Get feedback from the students on overall teaching learning & academic environment of the university

The primary focus remains on making them aware on Code of conduct, ethics, rights & responsibilities of the students in the campus.


Research & Development Cell initiatives


The University has Research and Development Cell to facilitate networking and establish collaborations for undertaking multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research.

The faculty has published 209 Journal articles, 15 books, 71 book chapters and 60 articles in Conference proceedings in 2021 and 2022. The faculty has gathered 84 patents in 2021 and 2022. There has been a thrust in making concerted efforts by our talented faculty to publish research papers on SDG goals. Some of the ground- breaking work has been publications related to SDG 3 on Good Health and Well Being (40 percent), SDG 7 on affordable and clean energy (12 percent), SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (19 percent) and SDG 10 on Reduced Inequality (12 percent).

To motivate the faculty to enhance the quality of research, the University has promulgated an Incentive Policy in the year 2021 and 2022. We are happy to share that till date ₹ 8.71 lacs research incentives have been disbursed to the faculty. Further, the University has offered seed grant of ₹ 12 lacs for research to the faculty.

Research Projects under various schemes for ₹ 17 crores have been submitted to funding agencies like SERB, DST, STPI, BIRAC, ICSSR, ICMR and MNRE. Besides, faculty are providing consultancy and training of ₹ 25 lacs. The University has been funded by DST for approximately ₹ 14 lacs and we have been recommended for another grant from DST of approximately ₹ 2.5 crores proposal.

The University successfully organized 05 International and National Conferences during the academic year 2021-22.

This year, 93 collaborative activities under functional MoUs of the University have been organized such as workshops, induction programmes, training programmes, coding competitions, expert talks, sensitisation programmes, field projects and publications to foster a rigorous research culture and innovation ecosystem in the University.

90 scholars have registered for Ph.D. in various disciplines during the academic year 2021-22.

The University has established the Centre for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AL) and Machine Learning (ML), K. R Mangalam Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre (KEIC) and the Centre for Sustainable Development.

University has a strong Mentor-Mentee framework. This framework pairs incoming first-year and transfer students with mentors who will aid their mentees in adjusting to campus life and serve as a resource during the academic year. It aims to connect students with diverse communities at University. Mentors will provide guidance, motivation, and resources to better support mentees. Mentors at KRMU indulge with the mentee to identify their aspirations, learning requirements, and interests individually. The system strengthens the bond between teachers and students while helping teach and learn at their own pace.

Focus on Entrepreneurship and Incubation


K.R. Mangalam Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre (KEIC) has been established to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial qualities in budding professionals who are interested in starting their own ventures. At our university, we strive to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among our students. The University provides infrastructure and technical support to the students having innovative ideas to transform into new products and services for the betterment of society.

The KEIC assists all the aspirants with mentoring, planning and execution of startup idea into a real business. The KEIC has maintained a pool of mentors, industrialist, sponsors and government agencies like Banks, EDII, and DST who are willing to aid budding entrepreneurs. Efforts made during the academic year 2021-22, KEIC conducted 21 incubation activities and has successfully established an Institution's Innovation Council (IC202218117) in the campus as per the norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, and Government of India.


Student Welfare

Dean Students’ Welfare office is committed to help students achieve their goals through their holistic development. 18 students successfully qualified in state/ national/international level examinations. 310 students were placed successfully in reputed industries and organizations and many have progressed to pursue higher education.

The scholarship amount of ₹ 51,84,900 has been awarded by the University. 219 students have benefitted from scholarships and freeships during the year. Our students are benefitting from career counselling and guidance for competitive examinations.

Our versatile students have bagged 137 awards/medals won by students for outstanding performance in sports/cultural activities at inter-university/state/national/international events.

The Student Council is extremely proactive in planning and development of various cultural, sports, social, recreational and other educational interests of students in the University.

Since 2021-22 till date the University has organized 76 sports and cultural events to hone the potential of students and provide them with opportunities for their holistic development. In the session 2021-22, the university organized an Alumni Meet 2022 wherein 84 Alumni participated. 21 Alumni events have been organized during the year for the students for related to career counselling, motivational talks, and coaching classes.


Human Resource Development and Staff Welfare

The University is proactively taking deliberate steps to brand itself and to add value to its staff. In addition, we have recently recruited many highly trained academics at dean, directors, professor, associate and assistant professor level. We have made promotions for various categories of staff during the year 2021-22 to date. 07 Academic staff were promoted to the grade of Professors and Associate Professors. A team of 188 teaching staff and 80 administrative and non-teaching staff is dedicated to working harder towards the attainment of the goals of this university.

We have created a mission-driven system for transforming large numbers of highly talented faculty with specializations in diverse areas (both interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary areas) with more autonomy and awards for productivity in terms of pedagogy, skill enhancement, research, and mentoring for creativity and innovation.

130 faculty have undergone Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) during academic year 2021-22 till date and financial support has been provided to them to attend conferences/workshops and towards membership fee of professional bodies. We have organized 50 faculty development programmes and training programmes during the year.

Teaching is given highest priority in faculty appraisal, annual increments and promotions. Peer review, Industry feedback, and academics experts viewpoints are incorporated in designing and reviewing the curriculum and course delivery. Outcome based education is integrated across the Teaching Learning Process (TLP). Faculty are recognized and awarded based on student and peer feedback on teaching.

Quality Assurance

To foster a culture of quality assurance in all academic and research endeavours, the university has developed a framework for continuous quality management and control. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of K.R Mangalam University conducted several trainings through a series of demonstrations and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) to familiarize the faculty with student-centric approaches to teaching. These methods include fishbowl techniques, simulation techniques, Student’s Interactive Sessions (SIS), Problem Based Learning (PBL), integrated teaching and tutorials.

ICT tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and E-learning resources are used by all the teachers. The University introduced its own MOODLE LMS this academic year which provides an interactive learning platform between students and teachers.

IQAC developed student questionnaires, and by doing so, it was able to coordinate the evaluation of personnel and different programmes by various stakeholders such as students, teachers, alumni, parents, employers and industry experts. Additionally, it is being ensured that all Units/Departments adhere to academic briefs, staff-to-student ratios, quality and mix.


Impact of value-based education on university

Value Based Education approach offers a new way of thinking about education and how students can be supported to develop to become successful and happy members of the global society. It encourages reflective and inspirational attributes and attitudes.

As a consequence, students become academically more diligent, the university acquire a more peaceful ambience, better student-teacher relationships are forged, student and teacher wellbeing improves and stakeholders are more engaged with the university. Explicit teaching of values provides a common ethical language for talking about interpersonal behavior. It also provides a mechanism for self-regulated behavior.

An important outcome is a more settled university which enhances quality teaching and enables faculty to raise the bar for student performance.

Academic Diligence: Students show an increased attentiveness in class and a greater capacity to work independently, assume more responsibility for their own learning ask questions and work together more cooperatively, take greater care, put more effort in their classwork and take more pride in their efforts.

University Ambience: The university ambience witnesses a decrease in the conflict among students. There is a demonstration of greater empathy, honesty and integrity.

Students become more tolerant and cooperative in their interactions. Classrooms and campus become safer and more harmonious. Greater kindness and tolerance among students is seen.

Student-teacher Relationships: Student-teacher relationships become more trusting. More democratic classrooms are established. Teachers give students more power by allowing them choices in learning activities. Teachers become more conscious of scaffolding students to manage their own behaviour or resolve conflict with others.

Teachers seek opportunities to acknowledge and reinforce appropriate behaviour. They listen to students and respond to their concerns and opinions.

K R Mangalam University believes in inculcating understanding of all diversities through its pedagogy and activities. In every part of the academic journey of a student infusing a sense of cohesiveness and empathy towards all is imperative for holistic education. The various schools and clubs of KRMU take initiatives for promoting tolerance and harmony towards cultural, regional, linguistic, communal socioeconomic and other diversities through several programs for providing an inclusive environment. K R Mangalam University has always taken active measures in sensitizing students towards the cultural, regional, linguistic, communal, and socio-economic diversities of the country.

There have been more than twenty activities throughout the year which aim to inculcate an inclusive environment. The university celebrated events such as National Unity Day on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Heartfulness session on International Day of Peace, Capacity Building and Training Programme on "Diversity and Inclusion in Workplace" commemorating International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
