About


Student Welfare provides ample scope, opportunities, and facilities for the students' all-around development of personality and leadership qualities. Here, all the activities are undertaken to promote opportunities for the youth to enhance their skills and talents to boost their confidence. Besides undertaking engagement activities regarding the facilitation of outcomes during and after the students’ pursuit of academic activities, the office acts as a channel of communication between the students and the university administration.

Objectives

The objectives of the Student Welfare are as under:-

  • To supervise and generally guide the activities of the student council of the University.
  • To work with the Sports Officer, Hostel Wardens, Alumni Office and Cultural Officer on all matters related to students’ Welfare.
  •  To establish and direct a program of student guidance and counseling.
  • To initiate an award of scholarships for eligible and exceptional cases of students.
  • To take steps to provide proper amenities in the hostels attached to the University including the working of the canteens and to exercise general supervision in respect of the hostels attached to the university.
  • To take proper steps in respect of grievance of students regarding the facilities available to them in the University.
  • To perform such other duties as may be assigned to him from time to time by the Vice-Chancellor.
  • To promote extracurricular activities such as games, sports, N.S.S., etc.
  • To advise Student Council as and when required.
     

Counseling


Unbiased guidance from experienced thought leaders is paramount to navigate students efficiently to achieve what they want. Mentors at KRMU indulge with the mentee to identify their aspirations, learning requirements, and interests individually. The system strengthens the bond between teachers and students while helping them teach and learn at their own pace. The training from the mentors helps the students to choose a career path that can suit their skills and interests. Effective mentoring begins with the faculty and depends on the healthy relationship between faculty and students.

Internal Complaints and Gender Sensitization Committee 


In pursuance of UGC (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015 read with Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the Internal Complaints and Gender Sensitization Committee of K.R. Mangalam University are constituted:

1. To deal with the complaints relating to Sexual harassment at the workplace.

2. To spread awareness about gender-related issues and the functioning of the Internal Complaints and Gender Sensitization Committee. The K.R. Mangalam University has a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and is proactively committed to providing a safe conducive work and academic environment to students & employees. We at KRMU are extremely alert to matters pertaining to any kind of harassment & gender sensitivity.


Grievance Handling and Anti Ragging

K.R. Mangalam University has created a mechanism for the redressal of grievances of students, faculty, and staff by adhering to the principles of natural justice in its proceedings and disposing of all grievances as expeditiously as possible. The University shall furnish, prominently, on its website and in its admission prospectus, all relevant information in respect of the Grievance Redressal Committee. The ANTI Ragging Committee ensures that there shall be no incidence of ragging on the campus as well as in the University Hostels. The main objective of this committee is to receive complaints (either oral or written) and to take appropriate disciplinary action against the erring students.

The Student Council of K.R. Mangalam University is a dynamic and enthusiastic group of students who are committed to making a positive impact on campus life. They serve as role models for their fellow students and are a testament to the university's commitment to fostering leadership and personal growth among its students. Led by the Dean of Student Welfare and the Assistant Dean of Student Welfare, the Student Council plays a crucial role in organizing events, programs, and activities that foster a sense of community and engagement among students.


Clubs and Societies


KRMU offers a vibrant campus life to the students and the faculty. From cultural events to scientific experiments, from robotic developments to artistic strokes, apprentices at KRMU keep their enthusiasm high and deliver impeccable participation in all activities. The University supports more than thirteen clubs/societies which are primarily run by the students. These clubs/societies offer students a platform to showcase their talents and acquire new traits that can be learned while thinking out of the box. Institutional Social Responsibilities (ISR) and Social Awareness


KRMU conducts numerous Extension Activities/Outreach Programs in neighboring villages Ghamroj, Garhi Bazidpur, Berka, Lakhuwas, Kharoda of Gurugram. The thrust areas where KR Mangalam University is relentlessly working and contributing to social causes are health, education, hygiene, gender sensitization, and basic technical skills in varied areas. Developing and inculcating self-employability skills such as sewing, stitching, and beautician courses. Furthermore, short-term certified technical courses are being run by the University for Enhancing and advancing Entrepreneurship Skills among villagers. The University strives to continue with such social and moral responsibilities towards the community so that a substantial contribution can be made to local, regional, and National Development The KRMU initiates various direct and indirect steps to promote awareness of various National Identities and Symbols, Fundamental Duties, and Rights of Indian Citizens. The KRMU celebrates Independence Day & Republic Day with great pomp and vigor. The University also celebrates Constitution Day on an annual basis and thus contributes to spreading Constitutional values and ideals.



Cultural Activities

The cultural club, dedicated to spreading awareness, understanding, and appreciation of a particular culture, its people, diversity, and values has served to support and unite members of cultural identity while helping the community to understand common misconceptions associated with that culture. The club encourages the students to engage in cultural activities, learn new skills, and participate in educational programs. Further, it promotes international and intercultural exchange and cooperation in the cultural sphere.

Sports Activities


K.R. Mangalam University provides state-of-the-art facilities with many playgrounds and indoor courts as well as sporting activities that help students stay as fit as a fiddle and develop a spirit of sportsmanship. Every year an Inter-University sports event “ZEST” is organized which has witnessed more than 500 participants across 15 different Universities/Colleges participating in the event every time. The games organized during the Zest are Football, Basketball, Tables Tennis Singles, Tables Tennis Doubles, Badminton Singles (M &W), Badminton Doubles (M &W) and Chess. The society also organizes SPORTURA, an Inter –School sports event. This sports event is organized every year for KRMU students only to showcase their skills in the field of sports. Every year SPORTURA witnesses the participation of more than 600 students from various schools in Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Badminton and Chess. The students of K. R. Mangalam University have participated in various National, State and Inter-University sports events and have achieved good results. KRMU students have been very consistent and have won various Inter-University games every year.

Fest and Festivals


K.R. Mangalam University celebrated its two-day Inter-University annual fest “Rendezvous-2023”, with great splendor, mirth, and zest. The magnificence of the Fest was made stronger by the Star performer Sukh-E Muzical Doctorz. His scintillating performance made everyone dance.
