Job Title: Warden (Male/Female) (24 Hours – Residential)
Location: K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram
Department: Administration/Hostel Management
Reports To: Dean of Student Welfare / Registrar
Job Purpose:
The Warden will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, discipline, and welfare of students residing in the hostel. This is a residential, round-the-clock role that requires a dedicated professional to oversee hostel administration, safety, security, and student support.
Key Responsibilities:
Hostel Administration & Management
- Oversee day-to-day hostel operations, including room allocation, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with hostel rules, regulations, and university policies.
- Maintain records of hostel occupancy, inventory, and student-related matters.
Student Welfare & Discipline
- Act as the first point of contact for students for personal or academic support.
- Counsel and guide students to maintain harmony and discipline in the hostel.
- Handle grievances and conflicts among students in a fair and timely manner.
Safety & Security
- Monitor entry/exit of students and visitors to ensure security protocols are followed.
- Coordinate with security staff for round-the-clock safety.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and handle crisis situations promptly.
Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with the university administration, mess in-charge, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.
- Conduct regular inspections of hostel premises and report issues to higher authorities.
- Submit periodic reports on hostel functioning and student welfare.
Other Responsibilities
- Organize hostel activities/events for student engagement and personality development.
- Enforce discipline regarding curfew timings, visitors, and conduct inside hostel premises.
- Be available 24/7 for any emergencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree (preferably in Management, Social Sciences, or relevant field).
- Prior experience as a Warden/Hostel Superintendent in a university/educational institution preferred.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle young adults with patience, empathy, and firmness.
- Good communication skills (English & Hindi).
- Proficiency in MS Office and report writing.
Work Environment:
- Residential Position: The Warden is required to stay on campus in the allocated accommodation.
- Available 24 hours a day to manage hostel affairs and emergencies.
