Important Information for Students

Academics at KRMU

The academic system at K. R. Mangalam University focuses on “learner-centered education”. It recognizes that students have diverse interests, learning styles, and goals, and allows them to have a say in shaping their educational experiences. Apart from discipline specific courses the University offers freedom to choose various interdisciplinary courses in the form of Open Electives, Value Added Courses and Minors as per the student’s interest. At the beginning of the semester, students are required to make their choices to register for these courses.

Student has to choose a stream of minor courses at the beginning of 1st semester. The minor stream will continue for the entire duration of the program.

Open Elective Courses will be introduced from 2nd semester onwards. Students will be allowed to choose from a bouquet of interdisciplinary courses.

Value Added Courses will be introduced from 1st semester. However; the students will be allowed to choose from a bouquet of courses from 2nd semester onwards.

Attendance

The minimum requirement of attendance in each course is 75% to be eligible to sit in the examination.

Examination

University has a process of continuous assessment of students comprising of tests/assignments/presentation/projects for internal assessment along with Mid Term and End Term examinations. A student is required to fulfill the minimum attendance requirement of 75% to be eligible to appear for the examination.

Extra-curricular Activities

University has state of the art infrastructure for sports/music/dance and other co-curricular/extra-curricular activities. The student is expected to take the maximum benefit of these facilities through various clubs/societies.

Clubs and Societies play a significant role in university life, offering students opportunities to engage in co-curricular activities, explore their interests, develop new skills and build a sense of community. Code of Conduct

At K.R. Mangalam University students shall conform to high standard of discipline and conduct themselves professionally in a manner befitting students of a University of repute. Students should wear/carry their Student Identity Card (IDs) at all times and produced as and when demanded by University authorities or any University security personnel. All students are subject to the University Rules and Regulations.
