An Unprecedented High Quality Innovation in Crystal Growth
Nearly perfect crystals are in great demand in technological applications as well as in high quality basic research. In the ‘Engineering Kitchen’ of KRMU, a facility for melt growth of large-size crystals has been established by using unprecedented techniques like a furnace fabricated with clay used in pottery and achieving ~1000C, and a pulling mechanism, without employing any electrical motor.
Alumni Welfare Association Cell and Training & Placement Cell had organized the Alumni Meet-2019 on October 12, 2019 at K.R. Mangalam University. Alumni from different schools made their presence with great zeal and zest.
Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof Aditya Malik, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Anita Sharma, Chief Guest Mr. Pushkar Bajpayee and the alumni inaugurated the meet with lighting of auspicious lamp and Saraswati puja. In his inaugural address, honorable Vice Chancellor said that “Nobody is bothered about an institution more than its alumni” and applauded the achievements of the alumni. He further expressed that the university will always desire to be associated with their Alma Mater. Alumni are the only all-time investors in the University who pay back through their time, resources, connections, jobs/internships, ideas, advice, and word-of-mouth referrals and become brand ambassadors of the university.
Prof Anita Sharma graciously welcomed the alumni and expressed hope that alumni network will become stronger in future.
Chief Guest Mr. Pushkar Bajpayee, Director of Sofcon India Pvt Ltd addressed the audience and shared his experience and knowledge for shaping the career of alumni. He shared about the advance technologies and current corporate culture, corporate requirements and demand.
This was followed by a panel discussion and interface of alumni with the final year students. The panel discussion was conducted by Dr. Sulakshana Banerjee
and Dr. Kanupriya. The alumni shared their experiences and memories of the time they spent pursuing their degree at the KRMU campus. They praised the faculty and the infrastructure and thanked the university officials for posing their trust and confidence for their overall development. Through this meet, they had the chance to interact with the faculty and their fellow students.
All the alumni were given mementos as a mark of affection, love and appreciation. The formal program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Meena Bhandari. Overall, it was a very interactive and fruitful gathering which opened vistas of opportunities for the further alliance with industries through its alumni connections.
