Renowned novelist Chandrahas Choudhury visited KRMU campus on 14th Jan 2020 and gave a talk on ‘How to Become a Writer’.
Some outstanding books by Chandrahas include ‘Arzee The Dwarf’, ‘Clouds’ and ‘Days of My China Dragon’. William Dalrymple has described Chandrahas in the following words: “Chandrahas Choudhary is one of the most clever and quirky, lively and witty, of India’s new generation of novelists. ‘Clouds’ signals the blossoming of a new talent ”.
Chandrahas Choudhary shared experiences from his life and interacted with students giving them both motivation as well as the tips on how to enrich their experiences in life and translate them into pieces of creative writing. Students from different streams attended the talk and felt the creative pulse that the author infused into the talk by openly sharing his own experiences and understanding of himself as well as the world around .
Chandrahas Choudhury also shared an important link for students to participate in the summer institute, Iowa city, a UNESCO city of Literature. This is a two week creative writing and cultural exchange programme free for all selected participants. Students in the age group of 18-22 can apply online.
