Nearly perfect crystals are in great demand in technological applications as well as in high quality basic research. In the ‘Engineering Kitchen’ of KRMU, a facility for melt growth of large-size crystals has been established by using unprecedented techniques like a furnace fabricated with clay used in pottery and achieving ~1000C, and a pulling mechanism, without employing any electrical motor.

The School of Management & Commerce had organized a Guest Lecture on “Intricacies of Behavioral Finance and Investment” on 15th October, 2019 at 11.30 in room no. 213 by Prof. S. G Badrinath,Chair Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management IIM-Bangalore.
He shared his vast experience with the students of management and commerce both under graduates and post graduates. He spoke about various biases in behavioral finance with very easy and practical examples and each example was related to how investors usually think just contrary to the rational investor. The market inefficiency & information asymmetry eventually disrupts the market leading to things like wrong valuation of the securities, volatility in the market and arbitrage opportunities. He also gave many examples how investors follow the herd and end up making losses. He suggested all the budding investors to understand the market and then make an entry with calculated risk. He also suggested few good fundamental books to the students to learn the basics of investment and stock market.
