Internal Complaints Committee and School of Legal Studies from K.R Mangalam University, organized a workshop on “KNOW YOUR RIGHTS – AB SAMJHAUTA NAHI” conducted by Josh Talks in association with ITC Vivel. The workshop was conducted on 19th March for the students of School of Journalism and Mass Communications, School of Fashion, School of Education and School of Humanities. The second session was conducted on 27th March 2019 for the students of School of Law.

The objective of the workshop was to create awareness amongst the students about their rights, and also that gender and identity are two different things. More than 200 students attended the workshop.

Ms. Ashana a member of the Josh Talks guided the students on to how understandings of gender have continuously evolved and that gender-fluidity is chiefly a question of internal personal identity and is therefore a psychological phenomenon. The data shows that today’s young people have significantly different understandings of gender than previous generations, with consequences for all children, families, organizations and institutions.

The sessions were informative and productive, as several case laws were discussed with the students and they were made aware of how new laws are coming up and amendments are being made in The Indian Penal Code, 1872; Information Technology Act, 2000. The videos and clips were played which highlighted on to how from earlier times laws have changed and that they are working for the betterment for the society. The session was coordinated by Ms. Ritika Saxena, Assistant Professor, SJMC and Ms. Sulakshana Mukherjee, Assistant Professor, SOLS.
