“Find your own drumbeat and make the mark”, Prof. Dinesh Singh
Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chancellor, K.R. Mangalam University, delivered an exclusive talk on “University Education in the 21st Century” held at India International Centre, New Delhi on May 11, 2019. Prof. Dinesh Singh addressed the parents and students of Class 12 about the dynamics and the progress in the education system. He mentioned how he took up the opportunity of being the Chancellor of K.R. Mangalam University as a challenge. He also discussed the new initiatives taken up at KRMU with Middlesex University, London, Pranab Mukherjee Foundation, Robotics Centre, Engineering Kitchen and Smart Ashram.
KRMU has initiated new ways of teaching and preparing their students for the real world by adding new courses from the upcoming session. Prof. Dinesh Singh stated on the occasion, “Job of a teacher and a university is to help the student to find his own drumbeat.”
A panel discussion was held on the same theme in which Prof. Aditya Malik, Vice-Chancellor, K.R. Mangalam University, Prof. Malashri Lal, Former Dean Academics, Delhi University, Ms. Sunita Nagpal, Principal, K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram, Ms. Upasana Sachdev, Regional Head India, Nepal & Bangladesh at Middlesex University, London, Prof. Hemani Singh, Director, The Institute for inventions, Innovations and Entrepreneurship, Mr Abhinav Jaggi, Director, United Cold Chain & Food Processing Limited, Jagsfresh Private Limited and Mr Pallav Sinha, Founder, MeraJob India Private Limited expressed their views. Panelists stressed upon the need of ‘hands-on’ exposure along with identifying the inner talents amongst the students.
The distinguished people of education and industry came together to discuss the various aspects of university education and selecting the right path. They showcased the various innovations of KRMU initiated under the new leadership. At a time when students and parents are struggling to find out the right course for them, the event was successful in presenting the new educational practices, courses and ideas.
