An Unprecedented High Quality Innovation in Crystal Growth
Nearly perfect crystals are in great demand in technological applications as well as in high quality basic research. In the ‘Engineering Kitchen’ of KRMU, a facility for melt growth of large-size crystals has been established by using unprecedented techniques like a furnace fabricated with clay used in pottery and achieving ~1000C, and a pulling mechanism, without employing any electrical motor.
Orientation and registration Program for Ph.D. research scholars for the batch 2019-20 was organized on September 14, 2019 in room no A 213. After the registration process, newly admitted batch of twenty six students along with school research committee members attended the Orientation Program.
Dr. Meena Bhandari (chairperson- Ph.D. Monitoring Committee) extended warm welcome to research scholars and introduced leadership team comprising of Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof Aditya Malik, Pro Vice Chancellor Madam Prof. Anita Sharma, Prof Krishan Lal C.V. Raman Chair Prof of Physics, Prof. Sumanyu Satpathy Professor of Eminence at the University and Registrar Col. P. Mahajan. She also gave the brief idea regarding course work, schedule of classes, functioning of School Research Committee (SRC) and University Research Committee (URC) and their vital supervisory role for research scholars.
Vice Chancellor Prof Aditya Malik ardently welcomed 2019 batch research scholars and congratulated them for choosing K. R. Mangalam University for pursuing their Ph.D. degree. He heightened on the fact that research scholars must work diligently and meticulously to achieve their research goals as research is a tedious process. He motivated them by narrating his own experiences as research scholar. He emphasized on the fact that supervisor and research scholar relationship is very beautiful and it continues for life. The research scholars must work hard with perseverance, consistency, patience to accomplish their objective.
Dr. Dilraj Preet Kaur (Member- PhD Monitoring Committee) proposed the vote of Thanks. It was followed by tea session where research scholars interacted with leadership team and SRC members.
