School of Medical and Allied Sciences, KR Mangalam University has organized a national conference on the theme ‘Online Pharmacy: Regulatory Perspectives’ on 01st March, 2019. Recently, Online Pharmacy came as a boon where various companies have emerged like Pharmeasy, 1mg etc. So, the current conference was aimed to discuss the pros and cons of Online Pharmacy as well as involvement and say of the regulatories bodies towards this e-pharmacy. The inauguration function started with the saraswati vandana followed by lamp lightening ceremony by Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Malik, Honorable Vice Chancellor K. R. Mangalam University, Prof.(Dr.) Anita Sharma, K. R. Mangalam University, Prof.(Dr.) Arun Garg Dean of School of Medical & Allied Sciences, along with guest of Honor Sh. Atul Nasa, Head of Office/Controlling & Licensing Authority and Deputy Drugs Controller with Drugs Control Department, Government of NCT of Delhi., Mr. Dinesh Madan All India Chemist and Druggist Association Delhi,Prof. Vijay Bhalla, Director, SGT College of pharmacy,Prof. Satender Rajput, Dean Amity University,Dr. Jayabalan Alwar college of pharmacy, Prof. Harpal Singh Bhutter from University of Ottawa, Sh. Neeraj Pant, Founder and Executive Director DDREG Group of Companies, Mr. Rajiv Gulati Consultant for PE firms, Dr. Varun Gupta, Vice President - Medical Affairs, 1mg Technologies Private Limited.

Prof. (Dr.) Aditya Malik, Honorable Vice Chancellor, K. R. Mangalam University and Prof.(Dr.) Arun Garg, Dean, K. R. Mangalam University, Gurgaon in their welcome address emphasized the objective of seminar and sparkled the program by the warm welcome to all the dignitaries. In their welcome address Sh. Atul Nasa and Prof.(Dr.) Harpal singh bhutter discussed on the present scenario of online pharmacy and their scope and various Job opportunities in Pharma field. Sh. Atul Nasa further stressed on the fact that even if we properly follow the rules and regulations of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, then both offline and online pharmacy can serve the purpose. Importance and necessity of Bills/Cash Memo was also discussed by Sh. Nasa. Mr. Dinesh Madan has discussed about the role of authorized person in e-prescription and Sh. Neeraj Pant discussed on the various Job opportunities in Pharma field. Dr. Varun Gupta discussed how they have reached to the development of human assisted artificial program for reading the prescription. The Scientific Abstract CD was released by Guest of Honor and other dignitaries.

The inaugural session was followed by scientific session and a parallel poster session was also conducted where the scientific work was presented by delegates and evaluated by subject experts. The seminar ended with felicitation to student for best poster and evaluators during the valedictory function.

Around 700 delegates from 17 different institutions of 7 states had participated in the national conference. Around 150 scientific poster presentations were there. The seminar proceedings will help pharmacy professionals’, students and pharmacy business promoters through the experiences shared by prominent experts from Regulatory agencies, e-pharmacy and renowned hospital pharmacy.

Prof.(Dr.) Saahil Arora, School of Medical & Allied Sciences, Gurgaon purposed vote of thank to Guest of honors, all special invitees and delegates for their sincere participation and guidance. He also thanked the staff members, student volunteers and media.
