Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), a not-for-profit organization, is the apex body of fashion design in India. It is represented by over 400 members and was created to promote, nurture and represent the most incredible talents in the country. Its prime objective is to propagate the business of fashion in India and globally by adding resplendent flair in the form of coveted fashion weeks.
With each passing year, the FDCI builds on artisanal fortitude and embarks on a journey with a brilliantly dynamic approach fired by inspirational ideas.
This visit provided them exposure of Industrial working culture and design development, students interacted with fashion designer & get an idea to conduct fashion events, Event management skills etc. It takes style beyond perceived boundaries by improving business practices, whilst creating domestic and international opportunities.
Students learned how to create a collection using diffrent aspect in terms of fabric, craft, print, embellishmnet etc. They also understand coordination of accessories with garment. They observed the interview of designer as well as showstoppers, their quick reply to fashion media. Students saw the following show - Rahul & Anushka, Mahima Mahajan, Bhumika Sharma, Diva Reddy, Nikita Mhaisalkar. They also visted exhibition of garments conducted by all the fashion designer participated in FDCI. They were so excited to see the celebrities- Neha Dhupia, Rakulpreet, Athiya Shetty, Shobhita Dhulipala.
Students were accompanied by three Faculty of SOFD (Ms. Rasika Kaushal, Ms.Sushma Mishra and Ms.Yashavi Rajwat).
