Dr. Amit Chawla
Professor and Dean
A Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, an alumnus of IIM-Kashipur and a qualified trainer from Océ ITC – Netherlands, Dr. Amit Chawla has an aggregate work experience of over 22 years. He has worked with some of the top institutions like NIFT, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi University, Amity University, GGS IP University and over 25 others. Aside he has had close affiliation with the media & corporate sector. Some of the organizations that he has been previously associated with include Canon India, Staff Selection Commission, Prasar Bharati, Press Information Bureau, Doordarshan, Media & Entertainment Skill Council, Sahara India, Jagran Group, Excel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., Colour Yellow Films and NTPC.
He is a published author with 5 books, over a dozen each of research papers, book chapters, articles etc. He is a board member of several journals and other organizations. He has also executed video-based research projects and over 100+ consultancy films with an aggregate worth of over Rs. 50 Lacs.
He created eLearning modules for two online platforms for Govt. of India. He has addressed at 25+ conferences and seminars both at national and international level and has conducted over a dozen FDPs organized by different universities. He is a recipient of numerous awards. Back in 2009, he established ‘Photoshala’ – first of its kind organization that offers production, consultancies, and mentoring, all under one roof. At present, he is serving as a professor and dean at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, K.R. Mangalam University, Haryana.
