Indrajeet Kumar is an accomplished educator and fashion professional with extensive experience in both academia and the fashion industry. Before joining KMRU, He was working as an Assistant Professor at Manipal University Jaipur, specializing in subjects such as Portfolio Presentation, Digital Fashion Illustrations, Fundamental of Design, Apparel Merchandising, Fashion Advertising, Design Concept, and Intellectual Property Rights.
Educational Background: Indrajeet holds a Master’s degree in Fashion Management from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Design from NIFT, Kolkata. He completed his secondary education at Guru Gobind Singh Public School, where he excelled academically.
Professional Experience: Before joining Manipal University Jaipur, Indrajeet worked as an Assistant Professor at Chandigarh University, Mohali, where he taught a variety of subjects including Basic Sewing Techniques, Traditional Textiles, Research and Line Development, and Design Portfolio. He has also served as a faculty member at the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), where he taught Pattern Making, Draping, Garment Construction, and Fashion Forecasting.
Indrajeet has substantial industry experience as well, having worked as a Sourcing Merchandiser for Triveni Textile Pvt. Ltd., where he managed vendor orders and product development. Prior to this, he worked as a Designer cum Merchandiser at A.K Textiles Pvt. Ltd., where he was responsible for designing apparel and managing product development for local and international brands.
Awards and Achievements: Throughout his career, Indrajeet has been recognized for his excellence in both teaching and professional practice. He won the Most Proactive Teacher Award at Chandigarh University in 2022 and has won the NIFT Extraordinary Service Award in 2020. Additionally, he achieved All India Rank 3 in the NIFT entrance examination and has won several awards and recognitions during his academic career.
Certifications and Professional Development: Indrajeet is committed to continuous learning and professional development. He has completed various certifications, including Faculty Development Programs on Outcome-Based Innovative Teaching and Learning Pedagogy, and Effective Teaching Learning using Social Media. He also holds certifications in Illustrator 2023 Essentials Training and Management of Fashion & Luxury Companies.
Skills and Strengths: Indrajeet is skilled in data analysis, planning and buying, marketing, trend analysis, fashion illustration, fashion design, apparel, and styling. He is proficient in several software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw, Lectra, and SPSS. His strengths include flexibility, adaptability, management, leadership, strategic planning, and strong organizational skills.
