Essay Writing Competition
On 28 April 2021, the School of Legal Studies of K.R Mangalam University organized an ‘Essay Writing Competition’ on World Day for Safety & Health at Work. The theme of the competition was ‘Safe & Healthy Working Conditions: A legal Right.’ The competition was held through virtual mode. The Legal Society of KRMU welcomed all the students of the university of all the courses to take part in this competition & share their views on how a safe & healthy environment is a must, and it is a legal right as well.
Talking about the theme of the competition, especially in this time of the pandemic, a clean, healthy, safe, and sanitized workspace is important for all the employees working. There are various statues in our country which talk about safe & healthy working space. In relation to this, the Occupational Safety, Health, and Working Conditions Code (OSH) is a bill currently under consideration for enactment by the Indian Parliament.
In this competition, the students were provided with a word limit of 2500 words & a time limit of an hour. The students were also given the liberty to write the essay as per their choice, either handwritten or typed. The students who grabbed the first top 3 positions are (i) Preeti, (ii) Kunal & Sonali (iii) Meghna. These students were awarded an E-certificate of excellence, and all the other participants were awarded an E-certificate of participation.
