Guest Lecture on Protection of Children from Child Labour and Exploitation

With the objective of promoting awareness among the law students regarding child labor and exploitation, the School of Legal Studies, K.R.Mangalam University organized a Guest Lecture on “Protection of Children from Child Labour and Exploitation” on 18 May 2022 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Dr. Aarushi Batra, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Bennett University, Greater Noida was the guest speaker for the same.

Dr. Aarushi Batra introduced a sensitive and contemporary issue of Child Labour, exploitation, and how child labor and early schooling affect the transition paths of youth and their eventual employment outcomes. She addressed the issues of child labor among the 15–17 years age group, the overlapping group that is relevant to broader efforts relating to both child labor and youth employment, and how the Covid-19 pandemic has led to an increase in the number of child laborers and discussed various ways in which students can spread awareness regarding the same. Law students learned about the laws and regulations regarding the topic and got to know about the measures they can take as future lawyers and as work as responsible citizens of India.


This was a highly informative session for the students and gave a new horizon of perspective, students came out to become more sensitive and showed their willful interest to assist and work towards the betterment of the situation. The event was finally concluded by giving a Letter of Appreciation and memento to Dr. Aarushi Batra by the faculties of the School Of Legal Studies, KRMU.
