Inter-University Envirothon Competition by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science Club

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science Club, K.R.Mangalam University organized an Inter-University Competition on ENVIROTHON - AN IDEA PRESENTATION on 25TH February 2022. This competition helped the students to develop their critical thinking skills which are needed by them for a lifetime that will aid them to find balanced solutions to various complex issues, such as how to encourage economic development and still preserve open space. With such pressing long-term issues as water quality, sustainable energy, waste management, land resources, and air pollution, the Envirothon will explain tomorrow’s leaders the positive and negative effects that individual actions have on the environment.

In this event, 9 participants from different colleges and universities (Central University of Haryana, PGDAV College, and K.R. Mangalam University) took part with great enthusiasm. The students presented their ideas on different topics like air pollution, sustainability, plastic management, and e-waste management.  The minimum duration for the presentation was 5-7 minutes and 2-5 minutes was given for question-answer. Students were evaluated by an external judge, Dr. Sushma Yadav, Assistant Professor, Central University of Haryana, and Ms. Sara Khan, Assistant Professor, K R Mangalam University.

Mr. Agnivesh secured the first position and Simple Singh and the third position was secured by Arshleen from K.R. Mangalam University. Exciting cash prizes of INR 1,000, INR 700, and INR 500 were granted to each participant with certificates.

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Neeraj Kumari, Dr. Nidhi Gaur, and Dr. Pooja Vats, Assistant Professor, School of Basic and Applied Science.

K. R. Mangalam University encourages positive competition and hopes to bring out the best in all its students through such competitive events while ensuring that the children learn in all possible ways.
