Laundry Visit
School of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, K.R.Mangalam University organized a visit to Number 1 Laundry Services, Sector 5, Gurugram on 21st June 2022. To make the students aware of the workings of industrial laundry, and acquaint students with the machinery, solvents, detergents, and human resources required to run an industrial-level laundry this visit was organized. The Number 1 laundry services laundry has been operational in Gurgaon for the last 11 years, the nearby three- and four-star hotels: OYO, Palm Trees Hotel, and the Galgotias Hotel are their clients among others, so the manager of the laundry explained to us about the workings of laundry, dry cleaning, spot treatment, care of expensive clothing, tagging of clothes so that none are mixed up, etc. Students got the firsthand experience of working in a laundry, of how dry cleaning takes place, the solvents required for the same, and the care of clothes and linen.
This was a highly informative session for the students of SOHMCT, they also got hands-on experience of working in an industrial Laundry. Students who would like to open up their own laundry services can have a look at the data that was shown to them and work on it accordingly.
