National Science Day Celebrations

National Science Day was celebrated & observed by the students of KR Mangalam University on 28th February 2022 to mark the discovery of the Indian Scientist Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman who discovered a phenomenon of scattering of photons which was later known as the ‘Raman Effect’ after his name.
This PAN university event was organised on account of National Science Day at Moot Court, 4th Floor- A Block from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM for the university students through the Chetna Society & Management Society forums coordinated by Dr Ruchika Yadav and Dr Rashmi Jain respectively.
Dr Ruchika Yadav welcomed the Guest Speaker Dr Gagan Sharma, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist from Shri SaiBaba Hospital, Shirdi, Maharashtra who later presided over the session.
The Guest Speaker discussed various aspects of science & linked the same with the scientific power of meditation which included the neuro-electrical changes during meditation, its psychological benefits & reasons behind unregulated minds. 
In simplified terms, he discussed the impact on the brain before & after 10 mins of meditation.
Very interestingly, he shared the concept of ‘Telomeres’ that get shortened by stress, which may be cured with 3 months of stress management through meditation.
Very beautifully, he shared the benefits of meditation through the chemistry of emotions, where the hormone Oxytocin is released in the brain to boost positive emotions which lead to positive mood, stress coping, social well-being, trust, and bonding, relieves stress and anxiety etc. 
Through renowned published Research Papers, he shared the benefits of meditation for cancer patients, migraine headache patients, development of IQ in university students, improvement in academic skills, holistic improvement in intellectual performance through transcendental meditation, decreased blood pressure among hypertensives & many more.
Students were showing their interest in understanding the scientific benefits of meditation & they were keen to improve their IQ.
The session was ended by the praiseworthy words for the speaker for sharing the wonderful & unique scientific information through thanksgiving note by Dean -School of Management & Commerce- Prof.(Dr) Rajat Gera.
