13th April Venue - KR Mangalam University

ONE DAY EDUCATIONAL TOUR to National Science Centre

School of Basic and Applied Sciences, K.R.Mangalam University organized a one-day educational tour to National Science Centre, Delhi on April 13, 2022, where students from all the courses (B.Sc./ M.Sc. – Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics) visited the center along with two faculties (Dr. Neeraj Kumari and Dr. Rajni Gautam). The visit proved to be a great way to arouse curiosity in the minds of students and was a thrilling and motivating experience. This visit helps the students to understand the values and assumptions inherent in the development and interpretation of scientific knowledge such as the idea that science is a human endeavor that seeks to understand the material. The students experienced different aspects of science.

Initially, students had a look at different galleries like Water: Elixir of Life Gallery, Science and Technology Heritage, Energy ball, Traditional machine, Cotton and Textiles, Human Biology, and many more.

Students experienced various science shows like the hollow show, science on the sphere, and fantasy ride. The hollow show was of 15 minutes where all eleven body systems are covered in this film from integumentary to reproductive. The film explores how these systems work together as a complementary unit to ensure the smooth functioning of the entire.

In the science show, various exciting physics experiments based on Bernoulli’s principle, weightlessness pressure, the center of gravity, super cold show, sound show, and some fun with chemistry were performed by the demonstrator. A fantasy ride, which is also known as a motion simulator, was also a great experience for the students. In this ride, movement is synchronized with a visual display of the outside world scene.

The visit turned out to be successful by fulfilling its aim of imparting scientific knowledge in an interesting way to the students which will remain fresh in their memories for a long.
