Report on one week NSS National Integration Camp

The Department of Higher Education, Haryana organized a “National Integration Camp at the College of Agriculture, Bawal (Rewari)” for one week from 21st March to 27th March 2022. NSS volunteers from eighteen different universities/ colleges like MDU Rohtak, CDLU Sirsa, GJUS&T Hisar, Central University of Haryana, Gurugram University, K R Mangalam University Gurugram of the Haryana state participated in the national camp. More than 100 volunteers and program officers of the NSS attended the camp

First day of the camp (21.03.2022)
On 21st March, the inaugural program started under the guidance of Dr. Naresh Kaushik, Principal of the College of Agriculture, Bawal (Rewari) around 2:00 pm by lighting the lamp. He addressed the students about the importance of NSS in conserving the cultural heritage and the development in rural areas. He said that the youths are in their imaginary world and they are not realizing their own potential. This NIC may help them to realize their importance to society.
Dr. Amarjeet Nimboria, camp coordinator, college of Agriculture (Bawal) welcomed the guests and  NSS volunteers and highlighted the proposed activities/plans of the camp.  The program officer of the college wished all the volunteers good luck for giving their best in the events and learning new things by building bonds with the NSS unit of various colleges/ universities. At the end of the day, the NSS unit of Bawal organized an open stage event in which various NSS unit showcased their talents through singing, dancing, poetry, and various other mediums. With this, the whole program concluded on a positive note.
 
 
Second day of the camp (22.03.2022)
The camp activities were commenced at 6 a.m. in the morning. The day started with the invocation of the NSS song followed by practicing various yoga poses like, Suryanamaskar, Bhujangasana, and many more. The yoga trainer, Mr. Rohtash not only helped the volunteers with the poses but also mentioned the importance of yoga and its benefits in various aspects of our life.
In the second session, Mr. Sanjay, a first aid expressionist of the Red Cross Society, Rewari delivered a lecture on First Aid by informing the volunteers about the do’s and the don’ts which must be followed by everyone during medical emergencies.
In the third session of the second day, competitions like slogan writing and poster making were scheduled. The evening was all about the cultural events that took place from 6 pm to 8 p.m.
 
 
Third day of the camp (23.03.2022)
The third day of NSS Camp again commenced with the same ritual of the invocation of the NSS song and various yogic asanas. The theme for the third day, ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was in the tribute of Shaheedi Diwas (23rd March 2022). The venue was decorated with tri-color balloons, beautiful marigold flowers, and decorating materials.
On the first session of the third day, the chief guest, Prof. B.R. Kamboj (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Naresh Kaushik, Dr. Amarjeet, and Dr. Dharamveer inaugurated the event by sharing their life experiences and raising awareness about the importance of concentration in our lives. The guests interacted with the student volunteers by raising the issue of environmental pollution and how can we get rid of it.
The second session was a poetry competition in which the student volunteers were expected to present their prepared poems keeping in mind the theme of the day. The evening began with exquisite performances depicting the culture of all over the country like Haryanvi folk dance, Marathi Lavni, Gujarati Garba, and much more. 
 
 
Fourth day of the camp (24.03.2022)
The fourth Day of the camp again started with a morning yoga session by Rohtash Sir in which he informed. In the first session of the fourth day, students joined with certified environmentalist, Mr. Bhagwan. He delivered a motivational speech and highlighted the importance of planting plants in our lives. In his lecture, he also mentioned the drawbacks of using plastic, precautions to be taken for the conservation of water, and discussed the importance of a clean surrounding. For the second guest lecture, Smt. Santosh Yadav, the first lady to climb Mt. Everest two times, shared her climbing stories, and college life diaries highlighting the struggle behind her achievement. She motivated everybody to believe in themselves, especially in the hard times. She had a nice interaction with all. In the second session, there was a singing competition in which a maximum of three participants from each team were allowed to showcase their talents. Each group performed very gracefully in this event.  
 
 
Fifth day of the camp (25.03.2022)
The fifth day of the Camp started with Marathon from Boys Hostel to COA Bawal City Gate, all the students participated and enjoyed the marathon and 100-meter race. The management team, Bawal organized an arm-wrestling competition for the female volunteers. The first session began with a lecture by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Bawal. He informed students about various techniques used during plantation drives and monitored its growth. For the second guest lecture, Dr. Dharmveer Yadav, Head Regional research center COA, Bawal joined and explained about various revolutions and techniques of Agriculture. In the third session, there was a dance competition in which every volunteer was free to perform either individually, in pairs, or in a group. 
 
 
Sixth day of the camp (26.03.2022)
The sixth day of the Camp initiated with various sports activities like a 200-meter race, 400 Metre race, Pair race & Frog jump for girls. At the moment, an arm-wrestling competition was organized for the male volunteers. In the competition Mr. Amit Tanwar, a volunteer of KRMU’s NSS unit cracked by winning the first position. After the sports activities, a cleanliness drive began in which every group removed the unwanted weeds from a given piece of land. Students also discarded a hump of plastics from the nearby farm. The first session was a Blood Donation Camp in which more than 50 NSS volunteers along with the teaching and non-teaching staff donated their blood.
In the second session, a skit competition was organized. Behind every play, there was a life-saving message which was truly motivational. During the performances, the NSS Head Dr. Kamal Ken joined and blessed students with his inspiring golden words.
 
 
Seventh-day of the camp (27.03.2022)
Seventh-day of the camp began with a rally at the entrance gate of COA, Bawal. In the first session of the last day, students welcomed the Cabinet Minister Dr. Banwari Lal who had an interaction with the volunteers. In the second session, the valedictory function took place. Dr. Amarjeet and his team announced the names of the winners. The chief guest of the day awarded the winners with trophies and certificates.
