Research Field Work

School of Legal Studies organized research fieldwork at Ghamroj village, which is situated in the district of Sohna, Gurugram, Haryana, on 21st July 2022. The main aim of conducting this research fieldwork was to collect primary data through the mode of a Questionnaire, from the people living in the village of Ghamroj. Through this visit, students were able to gather sample data from 50 families, which contained opinions of the parents of various financial, caste, and religious backgrounds. The survey was collected from different categories such as - General Category, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other categories, etc.

This survey was a successful one, as it not only helped us to collect the survey but also helped the students to interact with the people on a one-on-one basis. The majority of the parents and their family members were able to open up and speak about the reality of society and how it affects everyone, especially girls. Carrying forward this research, students and faculty members are planning to conduct research in other adopted villages too to understand the conditions of villages. This visit was successfully conducted through the guidance of all the faculty members and with the corporation of the people living in Ghamroj. Students were encouraged and motivated towards engaging in further experiences of research and fieldwork, and through that, develop their speaking as well as social skills.
