Workshop on Labour Reforms: Analysing the Transformative Legal landscape

To enhance the knowledge of Labour Reforms among students School of Legal Studies, K.R. Mangalam University organized an online workshop called “Workshop on Labour Reforms: Analysing the Transformative Legal” on Friday 11 May 2022. The aim of the event was to encourage students to know about the current Labour and Industrial Reforms in India.

In the workshop, students took part on a large scale in both online and offline mode. Each and every student gained a good knowledge of various Legislations on Labour laws which are largely a result of social and economic conditions prevalent in that country.

These laws regulate various aspects of work including the conditions of employment, wages, number of working hours, regulation of adolescent labor, social security, and other facilities provided. Dr. Anuja. S, Assistant Professor at the Manipal Law School, MAHE, Bengaluru was the speaker for the workshop.

Dr. Anuja, through her examples, explained various legislations established for the labor laws, such as The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, The Trade Union Act, 1926, etc, and paid some attention to establishing a legal system facilitating productive individual and collective employment relationships and thereby constructing a fruitful economy, to offer a framework within which employers, employees, and their respective representatives can interact and discuss work-related issues, thereby achieving harmonious industrial relations, making a healthy and safe ambiance at work, it also gives an assurance of the existence of basic fundamental principles at work, which have, over the years received extensive social acceptance and also establishes a process by which these rights can be enforced.

The event was successfully conducted by fulfilling its aim of imparting knowledge in an interesting way to the students. Through this workshop, students got well-versed advanced knowledge of the Labour and Industrial Laws and the upcoming Legal Reforms.
