K.R. Mangalam University gracefully organized its 6 thAnnual Inter-College Cultural Fest “RENDEZVOUS -2019” on February 15th, 2019 in the University premises. Prof Aditya Malik- Vice Chancellor, the Members of Management and Deans of various Schools graced the occasion with their benign presence. Prof. Ashum Gupta-Dean Academics and Research was also amongst us to motivate and enlighten us with her varied expertise and excellence in her area. Prof. (Dr.) Arun Garg - Dean Students Welfare and Chief Coordinator of Cultural Committee and Ms. Asha Sohal, Ms Manasavi Maheshwari, Ms Silky Sethi and Mr. Amit Kumar Conveners of Cultural Committee welcomed the dignitaries.

Mrs. Kusum Chopra, A Ph.D. (Textile Technology) from I.I.T. Delhi and M.Sc. (Clothing & Textiles) from M.S. University, Prof. Chopra has over forty years of teaching, research and professional experience presently a consultant and advisor in the areas of fashion,textiles,faculty training. She was the Chief Guest of the day, with whose presence the occasion became a remarkable and memorable one. She was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor.

Events of the day started with Lamp Lighting ceremony and Sarasvati vandana. Mrs Kusum Chopra and the eminences gave flight to colorful balloons as a symbol of bright, peaceful and healthy tomorrow. Mrs.Chopra declared the Fest Open and shared her words with the audience. Dr Arun Garg presented the vote of thanks. Our students with versatile talents Tanvi, Vaibhav, Abhinav and Jolly our leading anchors throughout the event kept the audience captivated with their hosting and lyrical stage presence. A beautiful Rangoli at the reception area was captivating for all. Numerous events were a part of the event which was planned with a motive of giving students a platform to showcase various talents. The events were Fashion Parade, Group dance, Solo Dance, Solo Singing, Rangmanch, and Mimicry were performed on stage while off stage events like Rangoli, Mehandi, Poster Making and Pencil Sketching were also highly appreciated by all. We were also delighted to have Mr.Vinod Verma an enthusiastic and cheerful personality who was a participant of Great Indian Laughter Challenge.He made the entire environment and audience happy by bringing a pleasant smile on everyone’s faces.

The Fashion Parade was based on the attractive themes like Colour bar,Heavenly,Beach Raabta and Shell Curves signifying the fusion of modern remix of style which attracted the audience. Mrs.Chopra appreciated the efforts of the participants and the main designers. The ramp walk with adorable outfits thrilled the stage and spelt the magic in the atmosphere.

A good number of teams from the K R Mangalam University as well as from other universities participated in this big event. This one day fest was attended by more than 1500 students across Delhi NCR; many of them participated in more than 12 different competitions. The dedication and hard work of the students was clearly visible in their performances. The themes for Rangmanch had a widespread message for our environment, society and humanity which was an eye opener to all. With the spirit of participation is more important than winning the winners in all the competitions won trophies and exciting cash prizes.

K R Mangalam has constantly strived over the years to include diverse events so that students from all over India can participate and make it a grand success. The show concluded on a high note, as everybody danced, sang and partied on the live performance of Indian Idol Fame: Mohit Chopra. The fest evening became completely musical and lightened with the spectacular combination of singing and dancing. The excitement surrounding the event reached at extraordinary level.
