On the 15th of September 2023, the Legal Aid Committee organised a donation drive and a visit to The Earth Saviours Foundation. All the students of the department were requested to donate clothing or food items for the drive a few days prior to the visit. The committee and the volunteers visited the foundation on the 15th. On reaching, the students distributed the items collected and interacted with the residents of the foundation. A few students sang some beautiful songs to elevate the mood. The students interacted with the residents and got to the understand their stories and empathise with them.
The purpose of the visit was to connect with the residents, provide companionship and a listening ear. These items were distributed among the residents, bringing joy and comfort to their lives. The event not only fulfilled its primary purpose but also fostered a strong sense of community and goodwill.
Witnessing their resilience and the sense of community within the foundation left a lasting impression on us, strengthening the importance of care and empathy for all senior citizens. The visit served as a poignant reminder of the sad reality of the world and reinforced values of compassion and empathy in all students.
