Mr. Nazrey Hossain is an Assistant Professor-at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, (SJMC), KR Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana. He has been an Assistant Professor, a Full-Time Faculty in Mass Communication & Media Technology at SGT University. He was also engaged with LLDIMS and MBICEM-under Guru Govind Singh-I.P. University; LU and Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi from 2012 till 2018.
He was also an adjunct faculty with Pioneer Media School-Pi; AIMC (Dwarka); IAAN SoMC ; and IIMM, New Delhi, particularly teaching, learning and mentoring the UG & PG students and scholars of Radio and TV Journalism, Visual Communication, Development Journalism, New Media, Environment Communication, Creative Writing, Documentary Filmmaking and Digital Filmmaking, Cyber Law, CSR , P. R. and AV Documentation.
He was until January, 2022 the Consultant, Production and Research for Eyeses BV, a Film and Multimedia Production and Training Organisation associated with Leiden University and V4T, The Netherlands and also with DD NEWS (Indian National TV Network) as an Assistant News Editor.He is an Alumnus of RNTC, an NFP awardee (International Fellowship) of NUFFIC and Foreign Ministry of The Netherlands and also of Calcutta University [West Bengal] and GJUST (Hisar, Haryana).
He has an extensive experience as a Documentary and an Ethnographic Filmmaker. He started his professional trajectory initially in Celluloid Filmmaking in Calcutta Days with Directors, including Mrinal Sen, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Roland Joffé, A. Jansse and Nitesh Roy. He had undertook many Professional Media Training Workshop with National and International Stalwarts including under the guidance of Satyajit Ray, Jean-Claude Carrière, Gaston Roberge (Chitabani) and professional mentored by DW-TV (Training Centre), Contract Advertising (I) Ltd, ZDF TV, Sanskriti Foundation, and Radio Netherland International.
He also interviewed Jean Rouch in Paris on the art and aesthetics of Ethnographic film-making with a demonstrated history of working in the education management and cross-media industry, including many International Film, Television, Interactive Project, Digital Production, Media Management, Action Research and Visual Anthropological Documentation over three decades across the countries in Asia and E.U., particularly in difficult to reach areas inhabited by ethnic, tribal and indigenous groups.
Having a special interest in Health Communication and BCC, he served as a full-time IEC, Media Consultant and PR Manager with NACO & AYUSH, Government of India, running multiple campaigns and media planning, targeted intervention programmes including HIV/AIDS under World Bank, UN, WHO, Clinton and Gates Foundation, John Hopkins University and other International Agencies’ collaborative projects. He has a good numbers of publications and has curated numerous Multi-Media and Visual Communication Projects including Still Photography.
