Mamta Shankar is a skilled physiotherapist and a passionate teacher, with an outstanding academic record and international exposure in clinical/ academic settings in different parts of the globe. She completed her BSc. (Hons.) Physical Therapy from The Institute for the Physically Handicapped, Delhi University in 2002. She achieved Rank 1 (General Category) in the Entrance Exam for MSPT from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and completed her Masters in 2005.
She started her professional career with an international chain of clinics, after receiving a Diploma in ACTERA Therapy from Denmark. She was the Clinic In-Charge for the first ACTERA Clinic in India, which was set up in Delhi. In 2006, she started her academic career as a Senior Lecturer at Lovely Professional University in Punjab. During her tenure, she was a Supervisor for 8 MPT students and received training in pedagogy.
In 2008, she moved to the UAE, where she was appointed as Lecturer in the prestigious Gulf Medical University, one of the first medcal colleges in the Gulf region. She also lived in Jakarta, Indonesia between 2011 and 2014, and in Dubai from 2014 to 2017, where she gained valuable clinical experience across different cultures. She continued her clinical set-up in India on returning to the country in 2017 and joined K.R. Mangalam University in August 2019 as Assistant Professor in the School of Medical and Allied Sciences.
She is an excellent orator and is a trained voice-over artist. She has been the anchor for several events and national/ international conferences. She is also the author of a textbook for Science (Millennium Booksource Pvt. Ltd.) for Class 8.
