Eligibility Criteria

The minimum eligibility criterion required for the candidates is to possess a Bachelor's degree in the respective subject or relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.

A degree in M.A Economics gives a strong foundation for teaching in Higher Education with M. Phil. in colleges and with Ph.D. /NET in Universities. Every corporation, financial service provider, financial institutions, consultancy firm, and private and government sector bank have positions for economists, research associates, research analysts, budget managers, economic advisory, and econometricians. Students have an option of writing the Indian Economics or Statistical Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Examination to get into higher posts available in the government sector and also in the Planning Commission, RBI, World Bank, and IMF.
