A Degree in M.A Economics gives a strong foundation for teaching in Higher Education with M.Phil.in colleges and with Ph.D./NET in Universities. Every corporation, financial service provider, Financial Institution, Consultancy Firm and Public as well as Government sector bank have positions for Economists, research associates, research analysts, budget managers, economic advisory, econometrician. Students have an option of writing the Indian Economic or Statistical Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Examination to get into higher posts available in the government sector. Also in Planning commission, RBI, World Bank, IMF etc.

The minimum eligibility criterion required for the candidates is to possess a Bachelor's degree in respective subject or relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
