Biography

Dr. Mita Poddar , Professor & Dean at the School of Legal Studies(SOLS), K.R. Mangalam University has extensive Knowledge and experience in the field of teaching and Administration in various educational Institutions including Central University, National Law University and Management Institutes. Apart from teaching various law subjects she has also experience in organising various academic programmes including special lecture by Foreign Delegates, International and National Seminars, Teacher’s Training programmes and Court visit programmes etc. She has been invited as a speaker in the International Conference in Foreign Country and also as a Resource person in UGC Refresher Courses. She has designed new course curriculum in various Educational Institutions. She also has twelve publications as a single author.

Education

She obtained B.A., LL. B., LL. M., Ph.D. from North Bengal University, Raja Rammohunpur, District Darjeeling. Pursuing LL. D. from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.

Teaching Experience : She has 12 years of teaching experience including administrative experience also.
State Labour Institute :

  • Teaching experience in the State Labour Institute, Government of West Bengal in the Course of Personnel Management. The subjects taught was Labour & Industrial Laws in the year 2002-2003
  • Department of Tea Management University of North Bengal :

  • Teaching experience in the course of Postgraduate Diploma in Tea Management in the Department of Tea Management, University of North Bengal. The subjects taught was Labour & Industrial Laws in the year 2004.

  • She was elected as the Secretary of Teachers Council in Balurghat Law College in the year 2005.

  • Committee works at central University level: She worked for Recruitment Rules Committee, Basic facility for Women’s committee, Gender Sensitization Unit, University/College Affiliation Rules Committee, Library verification committee. At college level also she was Convener of Magazine Committee in Balurghat Law College.
