LL.M.(One Year)

Masters in Law or LL.M. is a one-year programme spread over two semesters and consists of three components- core subjects, elective course, and a Dissertation. Core subjects are i) Law & Justice in the Globalizing World, ii) Research Methods & Legal Writing, and iii) Comparative Public Law/ System of Governance.

These subjects are classroom-based. Students are expected to complete six elective courses over two semesters, which are research-based. A wide range of elective courses is available in one's area of specialization. These can be from different specializations depending upon a student's interest. Dissertation writing is a mandatory component of the programme. The course imparts intensive knowledge and training in legal studies, helping the students acquire widened perspectives both for research and professional application.

Eligibility Criteria

He/she should have passed the LL.B. from a recognized University with not less than 50% in aggregate.

Career Options

A Postgraduate degree in Law with specialization enables the students to pursue further research in legal studies in India or abroad. Students can look forward to pursuing a Doctorate in Law for a career in Higher education or can work as an Academician or join judicial services.
