The Ph.D. in Management and Commerce at K.R. Mangalam University's School of Management and Commerce (SOET) is primarily designed to better prepare students for doctoral level business experts, where they can enjoy productive careers in the business field or related industries, research foundations, government or private academic institutions.
Students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. are encouraged to be integrated into K. R. Mangalam University's world-class research and liberal learning culture. Students pursuing a Ph.D. can select from a wide range of research areas such as managing technology and innovation, resource management and sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, corporate responsibility, ethics, and accountability. Interdisciplinary research frequently crosses over into other sciences. Students are assisted in their individual research projects by well-trained faculty.
The Ph.D. programme is designed by highly qualified and widely recognized faculty in their respective fields and is entirely based on research conducted by scholars under the supervision of a Supervisor/Co-Supervisor(s).
The Ph.D. programme caters to the following categories of students:
Scholars are required to devote full time on campus for the Ph.D. programme. Some scholars may be offered a teaching/research/project assistantship. The selected scholars will be required to assist in teaching/laboratories and other developmental work under the guidance of a mentor.
Scholars working in organizations situated in close vicinity of the university can enroll under this category.
Employees of organizations/industries having collaborations with the university can enroll under this category.
The Ph.D. programme is based on research conducted by the student under the supervision of the Supervisor/Co-supervisor(s), and the duration of the programme is determined by the student's completion of the chosen research. The research work is distinguished by the discovery of new facts, the formulation of new theories/theories, or a new interpretation of known facts. It should demonstrate the candidate's analytical and judgment abilities, as well as his or her ability to conduct independent research, design, or development.
All admitted students are provisionally registered in the programme and must complete a minimum of 14 credits of course work. Following successful completion of the course work, the student must identify a Supervisor/Co-supervisor(s) and prepare a detailed report in consultation with them.
Research Proposal/Synopsis of the research he/she wishes to conduct Students are formally registered in the Ph.D. programme after the Synopsis and Supervisor / Co-supervisor(s) have been approved.
Normally, this must be completed within one year of admission. Following formal registration, the student begins to research and is required to submit a progress report at the end of each semester as well as make a presentation to the School Research Committee (SRC). The minimum time frame for submitting a dissertation is three years from the date of admission, and the maximum time frame is six years. According to UGC guidelines, women candidates and those with more than 40% disability may be granted a two-year extension.
After completing the research, the student must submit a summary (synopsis) of the research and give a presentation to the SRC. Before submitting the dissertation, the student should have published at least one paper from the research work in peer-reviewed journals and given at least two presentations at conferences. The dissertation must be original and free of plagiarism, and it will be evaluated by two examiners and the supervisor (s). The scholar must appear for the final viva voce for the award of the degree after receiving the Thesis assessment report and recommendations from all examiners.
A postgraduate degree or equivalent in the concerned subject from a recognized Indian University, or a postgraduate degree approved by the Association of Indian Universities/UGC/AICTE with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale.
Ph.D. admission is open only for those students who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE) teacher fellowship or have passed M.Phil.
Ph.D. admission is open for regular University faculty.

@krmangalam.edu.in/admission/Ph.D.-admission and submit it completely filled in all respects with copies of all the documents. Shortlisted candidates will be called for written examination and interview. They will be required to pay a Registration-cum-Processing fee of INR 5000 (Refundable).
Admission to Ph. D.programme will be based on the overall performance in Post Graduate degree, Entrance Examination, Personal Interview and positions available. Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates and those having sponsored projects.
Written Entrance Examination
It will broadly test the research aptitude and ability to comprehend. Candidates with GATE or equivalent qualifications may be exempted from the Entrance Examination
Candidates who clear the written entrance examination will be selected for a Personal interview. The interview will be conducted by the Interview Board of the University to comprehensively judge in-depth knowledge in the concerned subject/area and ability to do research.
Admitted candidates will be required to pay the first installment of the Ph.D.programme fee and security deposit within the specified time to confirm admission.
