Youth Empowerment Programme “Sankalp Se Sidhi”

School of Management and Commerce (SOMC) organised Youth Empowerment programme “Sankalp Se Sidhi” in association with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports through its autonomous body Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan on 31st October 2018. The objective of the programme was to create awareness on various contemporary concerns related to youth such as skill based training, precautions and safety measures to be taken in online banking transactions, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and Youth Welfare Schemes of Government. The resource persons from industry and academia were invited to speak on the concerned areas.

The programme was fully funded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
The day 31st October is also celebrated as birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel so the programme started with paying homage to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Mr. O.P. Gupta, Director, RUDSET spoke about various skill based training programmes conducted by his Institute to train youth to start their enterprise and become economically independent. The Institute provides training free of cost and also facilitates funding of the projects undertaken by young entrepreneurs.
Dr. Shikha Garg, HIV Counselor, Civil Hospital, Gurgaon spoke about problem of HIV/AIDS and its prevention and treatment. Mr. Rajesh Dwivedi, Branch Manager RBL Bank Limited, Sohna spoke about online and digital banking transactions, safety and precautionary measures while making online payments and fund transfer. Dr. Ruchika Yadav, Associate Professor, SOMC gave motivational speech on “Purpose of Life” emphasising the role of introspection and how introspecting one’s own life can yield benefits. Dr. Rashmi Jain, Assistant Professor, SOMC spoke in detail about ‘Sankalp Se Sidhi’ initiative along with other welfare schemes of the government.
Students enthusiastically participated in the programme and raised relevant queries, which were answered by the resource persons. Dr. Rashmi Jain concluded the programme with vote of thanks to the dignitaries.
