    OVERVIEW

    PhD programme in Commerce at School of Management and Commerce (SOMC), K R Mangalam University is designed under the guidance of highly qualified and widely recognized faculty in their respective fields. This PhD programme is for curious individuals who want to work at cutting edge research and expand the frontier of human knowledge. The PhD programme in Commerce is based on the research carried out by the scholars under the guidance of Supervisor/Co-Supervisor(s). The programme duration depends upon the completion of the chosen research work by the scholars. The research work is characterized either by the discovery of new facts or the proposition of new theory/theories or by a fresh interpretation of known facts. It should bear evidence of the scholars’ capacity for analysis and judgment as well as his/her ability to carry out an independent investigation, design, or development. All admitted scholars are provisionally registered into the programme and are required to undertake a mandatory minimum course work of 12 credits. Upon successful completion of the course work, the scholar shall identify supervisor/co-supervisor(s) and prepare a detailed Research Proposal/Synopsis of the research s/he wants to carry out.

    Full-Time Scholars

    Scholars are required to devote full time on campus for the Ph.D.programme. Some scholars may be offered a teaching/research/project assistantship. The selected scholars will be required to assist in teaching/laboratories and other developmental work under the guidance of a mentor.

      Process

      Candidates are required to download the Ph.D. admission form from the university website (click here) and submit it completely filled in all respects with copies of all the documents. Shortlisted candidates will be called for written examination and interview. They will be required to pay a Registration-cum-Processing fee of INR 5000 (Refundable).

      Admission to Ph.D. in CSE programme will be based on the overall performance in Post Graduate degree, Entrance Examination, Personal Interview and positions available. Preference will be given to CSIR/UGC NET qualified candidates and those having sponsored projects.

      WRITTEN ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
      It will broadly test the research aptitude and ability to comprehend. Candidates with NET, GATE, M Phil. or equivalent qualifications may be exempted from the entrance examination.

      PERSONAL INTERVIEW
      Candidates who clear the written entrance examination will be selected for the personal interview. The interview will be conducted by the Interview Board of the University to comprehensively judge in-depth knowledge in the concerned subject/area and ability to do research.

      Admitted candidates will be required to pay the first installment of the Ph.D.programme fee and security deposit within the specified time to confirm admission.

      The minimum qualification for admission to a PhD course is a postgraduate degree or equivalent in the concerned subject from a recognized Indian University, or a postgraduate degree approved by the Association of Indian Universities/UGC/AICTE with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale.
      Yes, it is mandatory to have all required mark sheets to enrol in phd course at KRMU. A candidate’s form will be registered and he /she will be offered an entrance exam date only on submission of all required documents including last semester marksheet in case of final year appearing candidates.
