Introduction
Pharma sector is one of the most burgeoning areas globally. It is of immense contribution in the development of newer and affordable therapeutic molecules imparting a significant impact on society and healthcare. Simultaneously, focus on research and development in pharmaceutical science in collaboration with interdisciplinary areas are gaining a lot of attraction among young graduates.
To meet the current demand, it is mandatory to aware the students about the various competitive exams conducted by Government funding agencies i.e., AICTE, CSIR, IARI, UGC, ICMR, DBT and DST, and interdisciplinary courses for higher education across the globe. The present seminar entails the diverse career options offered in Pharmacy such as dispensing, manufacturing, research and development, quality control, and pharmacovigilance.
Objectives
- Introduce students to the concept of pharmacovigilance and its importance in healthcare.
- Highlight the role of pharmacists in ensuring drug safety through active pharmacovigilance practices.
- Discuss the methodology and tools used in pharmacovigilance for the detection and reporting of adverse drug reactions.
- Provide insights into the global regulatory framework governing pharmacovigilance activities.
- Illustrate real-life examples of the impact of pharmacovigilance on public health and patient outcomes.
