World Physiotherapy Week

The School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences observed World Physiotherapy Week with a series of academic, clinical, and community-focused activities. The celebrations began with a free physiotherapy consultation camp, offering patient care and hands-on clinical exposure to students, followed by expert talks that enhanced understanding of sports injuries and career pathways in physiotherapy. A hands-on training session on Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) familiarized participants with advanced rehabilitation techniques, while community outreach and clinical exposure visits promoted empathy, social responsibility, and experiential learning in specialized physiotherapy settings. The week concluded with an inter-school poster making competition on Healthy Ageing, encouraging creativity and scientific thinking. Overall, the initiative strengthened clinical skills, professional awareness, and community engagement, underlining physiotherapy’s vital role in improving quality of life and supporting healthy ageing.
