The Dean – Research will provide vision and leadership to build a thriving research ecosystem, enhance funding and collaborations, and ensure the University’s sustained growth in research rankings and global reputation.
Key Responsibilities

Formulate and implement the University’s Research & Innovation Strategy in line with NEP 2020, NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and global standards.

Mentor faculty and scholars to secure national and international research grants (DST, DBT, ICSSR, CSR, World Bank, Horizon Europe, etc.).

Strengthen Research & Development Centre (RDC), Ethics Committee, and IPR Cell at KRMU.

Oversee seed grants, internal fellowships, and Institutional Research Fellowship (IRF) schemes.

Promote high-quality publications (Scopus, WoS, ABDC) and patents.

Drive industry-academia partnerships for consultancy, technology transfer, and funded projects.

Build Centres of Excellence and advanced labs in focus areas (AI, Robotics, Sustainability, Healthcare, Design, Media & Creative Economy, etc.).

Enhance student research engagement through HackKRMU, innovation challenges, incubator linkages (KEIC), and conferences.

Prepare annual research reports and contribute to rankings (NIRF, THE, QS, ARIIA).
Qualifications
-
Ph.D. from a reputed national or international university in a relevant field.

Minimum 15 years of academic and research experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (Dean/Associate Dean/Director Research/HoD with research portfolio).

Proven record of:

Securing significant funded projects (government, industry, or international).

Publishing in indexed, high-impact journals.

Filing/granting patents or commercialized technologies.

Experience with national and global research frameworks (UGC, AICTE, NAAC, NBA, NEP 2020, NIRF, QS, THE).

Exposure to building international collaborations and MoUs with academia/industry.
