About
A CCTV technician for managing university campus cameras is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV and surveillance systems to ensure campus security and safety.
Key Duties
- Install, configure, and test CCTV equipment, including analog/IP cameras, DVRs/NVRs, monitors, and associated cabling across campus areas.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and system inspections to confirm optimal camera
- Troubleshoot technical issues and perform repairs to ensure uninterrupted video
- Integrate surveillance systems with university access control, alarms, or IT
- Perform site surveys to determine best camera locations and wiring
- Document installations, service logs, and escalate complex technical issues when
- Provide user training on basic CCTV operation and maintenance to staff or security
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience with CCTV hardware (IP/Analog cameras, DVR/NVR systems), cabling, and networking
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work at heights or different locations on
- Effective communication skills, documentation abilities, and customer service

Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational certification in electronics, security systems, or CCTV installation preferred).
