As the Dean of the School of Basic & Applied Sciences, I am proud to share that since its inception in 2013, the School has consistently upheld a strong tradition of delivering experiential, real-world–oriented education across its undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Forensic Science, along with Ph.D. programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Forensic Science. Each programme is thoughtfully designed to equip students with strong conceptual foundations, analytical skills, and practical expertise, enabling them to apply their knowledge for societal advancement as well as professional success.

The School is committed to nurturing innovation, ethical values, and transformative leadership by providing a modern, learner-centric, and morally grounded education. Our academic framework emphasises excellence, professional competence, and the ability to address contemporary social, environmental, and technological challenges.             School of Basic and Applied Sciences conducted a visit in Ghamroj Village, for the “Case Study on Drug Addiction Through Survey and Deaddiction Campaign.” The initiative involved surveying nearby villages to understand the prevalence of drug addiction, followed by a comprehensive deaddiction campaign. The event began with a welcome shloka sung by one of the students. Students gave performances as per the theme of the event by means of dancing, Singing and skit. Meghna Gangwar, a student of MA JMC performed a skit highlighting the prevalence of Western culture in India and won the 1st prize, while Swayam a BBA student sung a song and was conferred with the 2nd prize.

            The Department of Forensic Science, SBAS, successfully organised FUSE 1.0 (Forensic Understanding and Scientific Exploration). The two-day event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by activities such as a treasure hunt and poster-making competition on Day One. Day Two featured a quiz competition, cultural performances, and an expert session by Dr. Suminder Kaur, Assistant Director of the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Delhi, where she shared her experiences in forensic DNA casework. The event concluded with a valedictory session, where Dr. Suminder Kaur awarded prizes to competition winners.
