Dr. Mahipal Singh Sankhla is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Forensic Science, School of Basic and Applied Science, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana. With a profound expertise in forensic science, Dr. Sankhla has made significant contributions to the field, particularly in heavy metals toxicity, forensic toxicology, environmental toxicology, environmental forensics, nanotechnology, and fingerprint analysis. Dr. Sankhla earned his Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Forensic Science, Master of Science degree in Forensic Science, and Ph.D. in Forensic Science from Galgotias University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. His academic journey is marked by extensive training at renowned institutions, including the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Lucknow, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in New Delhi, Codon Institute of Biotechnology in Noida, and the Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (R&D Division) in Udaipur. Before his tenure at Chandigarh University, His exceptional work has been recognized with numerous awards, including a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from the Department of Science and Technology (DST)-funded project at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, and accolades such as the Young Scientist Award, Young Researcher Award, and Forensic Researcher Award. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Sankhla has been honored by the Government of India with the nomination to mentor the ‘Atal Innovation Mission’ of NITI Aayog, aimed at setting up Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) across Indian schools. His commitment to research and innovation is reflected in his extensive publication record, with over 200+ peer-reviewed articles in national and international journals and book chapters. He has also edited 10 books published by renowned publishers such as Springer Nature and CRC Press. Additionally, he holds two Indian copyrights, published and grant over 70+ Indian patents. Dr. Sankhla actively engages in the scientific community by serving on editorial boards, reviewing for prestigious journals such as Springer, Elsevier, and Bentham, and participating in organizing committees for national and international conferences. His work continues to influence the field of forensic science and environmental toxicology research, making him a prominent figure in both academic and professional circles.
