Assistant/Associate Professor – Robotics and Intelligent Systems

About the Role

K.R. Mangalam University is launching a pioneering Robotics and Intelligent Systems program that integrates artificial intelligence, mechatronics, embedded systems, and autonomous control. We are seeking passionate full-time faculty members who combine strong theoretical grounding with hands-on expertise to shape the next generation of robotics engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor students in robotics, control, AI, embedded systems, and related domains through project-based learning.
  • Design and deliver engaging lectures, lab sessions, and workshops emphasizing real-world implementation and experiential learning.
  • Guide multidisciplinary student teams on research, product development, and industry-linked projects.
  • Contribute to developing and upgrading laboratories (Robotics, IoT, ROS, Computer Vision, Simulation, etc.).
  • Pursue research and publications in emerging areas of robotics, automation, and intelligent systems.
  • Engage with industry partners and support collaborations, internships, and technology-driven initiatives.
  • Participate in curriculum design and continuous program enhancement in alignment with NEP 2020 and global standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).
  • M.Tech./M.E. in Robotics, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Proven hands-on experience with robotics platforms, sensors, actuators, and control algorithms.
  • Strong programming background in C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with one or more of:
    • Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS 2)
    • Microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32, Raspberry Pi)
    • Computer Vision / AI integration
    • Simulation and control tools (Gazebo, Simulink, Webots, etc.)

Desirable Attributes

  • Strong research record with publications, patents, or demonstrable projects.
  • Experience leading labs or student innovation projects.
  • Familiarity with IoT platforms, cloud integration, or AI-based robotics applications.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and inspire curiosity-driven learning.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
