Field Visit to Biomed Factory

The School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences organised an educational field visit to the Biomed Factory, Najafgarh for students. The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with hands-on exposure to the manufacturing process of physiotherapy modalities and to enhance their understanding of the scientific principles behind their clinical application. During the visit, students explored various stages of production, including component assembly, internal wiring, calibration procedures, and stringent quality and safety testing. The technical experts at Biomed demonstrated how essential physiotherapy modalities—such as TENS units, Ultrasound therapy machines, Short Wave Diathermy, and Muscle Stimulators are conceptualised, designed, and assembled. The session offered students a deeper understanding of the physics involved in generating therapeutic electrical currents, ultrasound waves, and electromagnetic fields. This exposure enabled them to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts taught in class and their real-world technical execution. The visit also highlighted the importance of industry standards, safety protocols, and innovations taking place in the rehabilitation equipment sector. Students interacted with professionals, asked questions, and gained clarity on the technological advancements shaping modern physiotherapy practice.
