Deepak Maun has 10+ years of experience spanning corporate (Operations/Supply Chain), Ed-Tech startup, and academia. A Dairy Technologist with an MBA and PhD from IIM Ahmedabad, he has a track record of building academic and operational systems from scratch. He is also deeply involved in alternative education/ un-schooling/ home-schooling communities.
Convinced about the need for lifelong learning, he created first-of-its-kind course in Indian universities on “Self-Directed Learning” to help graduating students learn how to learn when they enter the real world of work. He loves tinkering and has an insatiable itch to play with tools to build, break, or repair stuff. He wants to engage all his students in such ‘experiential learning’ to help them discover their passions and build respect and appreciation for people who work with their hands.
He understands the power of ‘personal branding’ and ‘networking’ using social media. To help his UG/Masters students utilize these for building their own careers, he engaged with them through courses on “Business Communication”, and after the semester, through one-to-one mentoring.
He also created a highly admired course on “Strategic Planning and Change Management in Education” focused on school principals as audience. To Ph.D. students, he taught courses on “Governance of Higher Education” and “History of Education in India”.
His research interests include University governance and leadership, student employability, and Ph.D. education.
