He was born in Chamoli and has done schooling from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. He received the B.Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, India in 2011, M.Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering with major in Thermal Science from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand in 2013 and Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Uttarakhand in 2021. He has also worked as Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering department, IFTM University, Moradabad for 7 years. Dr. Prabhakar Bhandari is a member of International Association of Engineers.

He has published over 10 research articles in international journals and international conference proceedings. His research interests include Microchannel heat sink, renewable energy, Electronic cooling and Computational Fluid Dynamic.
