Koustav Nag was raised in a nuclear family and developed a keen interest in the intersection of creative thinking with social and cultural domains. Koustav Nag hails from Kharagpur, a city located in the state of West Bengal. Koustav obtained his Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree from Indira Kala Sangeet Visawvidaylaya in 2005, then his Master of Arts degree from Visva Bharati University in 2007. Despite his foundation in printmaking, he has consistently been involved in practices encompassing other disciplines. In 2007, Koustav received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and a fellowship from Lalit Kala. The individual has participated in several residencies and exhibitions, including the Tokyo Wonder Site in Japan, The World Bank in the United States of America, Religare Arts’I Delhi, Niv Art Centre Delhi, Sarai Reader-II, Crack in Bangladesh, and others. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Assam University in Silchar, where he pursued his studies.
