Dr. Parakh Basist

Ms. Parakh Basist obtained her B.Pharm and M.Pharm with specialization in Pharmacology in the year 2016 and 2018 from School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard. She did her PhD with fellowship from UGC-NF in Bioactive Natural Product Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Sayeed Ahmad, Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Research and Education, Jamia Hamdard. She has qualified GPAT in 2016. She has attended and presented posters in various National and International conferences.

She has knowledge about animal handling including dosing, surgical procedures and histopathological analysis. Further, gained experience in extraction, isolation of secondary metabolites and specific targeted metabolites from herbal plants and investigating its potential in different animal models and identifying the mechanism of action for the treatment of diseases. She has also learned substancial research approaches like western blotting, RT-PCR, flow cytometry HPTLC, HPLC, LC-MC and GC-MS. She is very handy to extract data from several search engines like PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, TOXNET, Lactnet, etc.
