Extension and Outreach Programme

Under the Extension and Outreach Programme organised from January- May 2024, the faculty and student-teachers of the School of Education, K.R. Mangalam University worked tirelessly to empower government school teachers to use modern Educational Technology to improve their teaching and assessment. The efforts were made to establish the value of continuous learning and collaboration within the community.

The extension and outreach programme was organised in a phase-wise manner. In the first phase, the teachers’ needs assessment was done through a baseline survey. In the second phase, based on the responses of teachers to the survey, a pre-test was conducted to assess the level of assistance required. Based on the results, tailored training sessions were organised. These sessions covered tools such as MS Office Suite, Canva, and Google Forms, enabling teachers to create engaging lessons and conduct efficient assessments. More than 20 government school teachers from various villages in Sohna, Gurugram, participated in the study. The programme highlighted the importance of regular needs assessment within the community, adequate infrastructural support, expert-led sessions, and support for large-scale studies to better equip teachers to address the contemporary needs of education and learners.
